Muller Project Wins Award
Muller Engineering Company's project on Jefferson County Road 73 from Barkley Road to Shadow Mountain Drive has just received the American Public Works Association, Colorado Chapter, Public Works Project Award, General Public Works, Large Community. The project was designed and constructed as a joint effort by Jefferson County Divisions of Highways & Transportation and Open Space. The new roadway was designed along with a relocation of the North Turkey Creek channel.  The project was a win-win project for traffic along the roadway as well as for the users of the Flying J Ranch Park.  The old creek alignment crowded the old roadway creating a narrow, unsafe condition.  The creek channel was moved to an adjacent meadow creating an open space amenity (with a future trail) and a wider, safer roadway with flatter sideslopes and unpaved clear zones.
