CDOT on National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week

Every year, National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) helps bring attention to safety in work zones across the country. This year, we celebrate NWZAW April 9th - 13th, and the 2018 theme is "Work Zone Safety: Everybody's Responsibility".

Show your support for Work Zone Safety by wearing orange on April 11th!

In February 2018, CDOT Maintenance Operator Nolan Olson lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while working on State Highway 160. To honor Nolan and all others lost in the line of duty, CDOT hosts a Remembrance Day, and asks the public to wear orange on Wednesday, April 11th.

These days, it seems like construction is happening on every street and highway - if you are driving and encounter a work site, please take caution! Observe reduced construction speed limits, and do not drive distracted.
