Senior Civil CAD Designer - Structural

Muller Engineering Company, a 5-years’ consecutive Top Workplaces designee, is seeking qualified candidates to enhance our team of Civil Engineering CAD Technicians and work with our Structural and Bridge Design Team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled professional who wishes to play an important role in the success of Muller’s numerous civil engineering projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide drafting and plan production services during concept, design and construction phases on a variety of structures including bridges, retaining walls, pedestrian underpasses, major box culverts, irrigation system facilities, foundations, hydraulic structures, trails and concrete hardscaping.
  • Prepare construction drawings using MicroStation, ORD and AutoCAD working from plan mark-ups and sketches
  • Implement and perform select needed tasks without immediate direction of engineer
  • Take ownership of a project from start to finish, ensuring Quality Control and standardization of product
  • Delegate tasks to junior CAD staff and review work
  • Coordinate and work with Project Team, including other CAD technicians, engineers, and support staff as well as subconsultants
  • Preparation of 3D models for use in client presentations and/or quantity calculations
  • Work in a team environment mentored and supervised by senior CAD staff and engineers
  • Ensure project deliverable packages adhere to company and client standards with attention to quality, budget, and schedule constraints
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Requirements: 
  • Certificate or Associates Degree in Drafting/CADD Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience in civil engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in civil structural or related field
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD is required
  • OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is a plus
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
  • SketchUp or other visualization program experience is a plus
  • Experience with CDOT or other state DOT plan preparation procedures and standards is a plus
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client’s overall project goals

Salary range for this position is: $36.00 to $45.00 per hour dependent on experience
