Traffic Operations Engineer

We are seeking candidates who want to work in a creative and collaborative environment to help deliver Muller’s numerous transportation projects throughout Colorado. The successful candidate will provide traffic engineering services including traffic signal timing, traffic modeling and traffic operations, and help develop other leading-edge technology projects in the Rocky Mountain region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and optimize traffic signal timing and coordination plans
  • Conduct implementation and fine tuning of traffic signal timing plans
  • Model complex traffic operations conditions involving multiple transportation modes
  • Interface with client’s traffic operations and maintenance staff
  • Assist in preparation of traffic and ITS planning and operations studies
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Perform field observation work when necessary
Education and/or Experience Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 4-8 years of experience in traffic operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment and creating designs and drawings that support our client’s overall project goals
  • Knowledge of and experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Tru-Traffic or other applicable traffic modeling software
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
Required License or Certification: 
  • Colorado Professional Engineer license, ability to transfer a license from another state or ability to obtain within one year
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification a plus

Salary range for this position is: $85,000/yr - $105,000/yr dependent on experience
