Transportation Design Engineer

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly-skilled roadway design professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team.  The successful candidate will play a key role in the design of Muller’s numerous major roadway system improvement projects throughout Colorado for state and local public agencies, and federal public-land roadways throughout the Southwest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Analysis and design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, and shared-use trails
  • Assist senior engineers in preparation of studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Perform field observation work when necessary
Education and/or Experience Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Entry level to three years of experience in the design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, and/or shared-use trails
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or Geopak, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client’s overall project goals
 
Required License or Certification: 
  • Colorado Engineer Intern or ability to transfer a license from another state
