COLORADO BOULEVARD MULTIMODAL CORRIDOR STUDY: COUNTY LINE ROAD TO ORCHARD ROAD

Centennial, Colorado

A book cover featuring a green line, highlighting its unique projects.

Muller led the City of Centennial’s first multimodal corridor study to identify appropriate complete street elements to improve safety and accommodate pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic along 3.25 miles of Colorado Boulevard. The study addresses the current lack of sufficient bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Muller conducted a detailed existing conditions assessment and identified several cross-section options to enable safe and efficient pedestrian and bicycle travel along the corridor. Public engagement was a key part of the study and Muller used “pop-up” events prior to COVID-19 and virtual public meetings and online surveys to gather community input. The study provided both short-term and long-term multimodal improvements focused on safety, active living, trail connections, access to transit, and regional collaboration. The study results and recommendations were documented in a final report that was adopted by the City.
