John serves as a senior project manager and team lead in the Stormwater group focusing on stormwater planning and design. His experience includes the design and management of all types of stormwater related projects, including stream restoration, stormwater planning studies, floodplain analysis, bridge hydraulics and scour analysis, transportation drainage design, stormwater pumpstation design, detention and water quality facility design, construction observation, and various special studies.
John has worked on a variety of stream restoration and transportation drainage projects throughout the Denver Metro area for a variety of clients, including the Mile High Flood District, Highlands Ranch Metro District, Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority, the Town of Castle Rock, City and County of Denver, City of Lakewood, the City of Aurora, CDOT, and RTD.
John’s background is in civil engineering; however, he has a passion for natural channel stream restoration. To increase his knowledge in fluvial geomorphology he has completed all four of the Fluvial Geomorphology courses taught by Dave Rosgen and Wildland Hydrology.
John is a member of the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers and the Association of State Floodplain Managers. He is a certified floodplain manager and a professional engineer in Colorado.
