Muller Engineering Company (Muller), in conjunction with its project partners, was honored with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 2024 Engineering Excellence Award for the North I-25 Segment 6 Project. Read about all of the winners on the ACEC website here.
Through innovative engineering, strategic collaboration, and forward-thinking design, the project team successfully transformed and enhanced North I-25 Segment 6, preparing it to support ongoing regional growth and international connections.
Key achievements included:
- adding a state-of-the-art mobility hub at the CO 56 interchange,
- reconfiguring the most dangerous curve on I-25 in a 60-mile segment and widening 14 narrow bridges north of the Little Thompson River,
- introducing a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at the CO 60 interchange, and
- implementing an innovative bridge rehabilitation solution at the Great Western Railroad crossing.
Despite limited funding and the unprecedented shift to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, these efforts ensured the timely and cost-effective completion of the project.
